Our School

Headteacher's Welcome:

I want to extend a warm welcome to you from everyone at Hotwells Primary School. I hope you enjoy exploring our website and getting to know our school.

Hotwells Primary School has a unique character and charm and everyone who comes here comments on the family feel within the school. A parent once said that, “Hotwells has a village school feel but is in the centre of a city.” Developing a strong community and sense of belonging is hugely important to us here at Hotwells and a real strength of the school. Hotwells is a school where everyone knows everyone, where the children are well cared for and their individual needs are met. Ofsted’s opening line in their recent report was, “At Hotwells Primary School everyone enjoys being a part of the school community. The inclusive, nurturing ethos means that pupils feel safe and well looked after. They enjoy coming to school and take pride in their work.”

Nurturing a love of learning and a culture of high expectations is of paramount importance. We want to create creative and ambitious individuals who thrive on challenge, engage readily with their learning and who are committed to doing their best. We are constantly looking for ways to enhance our curriculum through trips and visits and we love to use our local environment and the fantastic resource of the harbour at every opportunity.

If your child will be joining us for the first time, we welcome you as parents, we thank you for entrusting your child to us, and we look forward to a happy and successful partnership over the coming years.

Once again, a very warm welcome from Hotwells Primary School, a school and community I am so very proud of.
